Toby Hawkins is the only son and middle child of Joe and Laura Hawkins. He has an older sister, Mattie and a younger sister, Sophie. He was infatuated with the family domestic synth, Anita in S1.

Toby first appears on the couch reading a magazine as his father tries to get him to answer the phone. When his father says he's going shopping, Toby asks him what he'll do if he needs to go anywhere, to which his father tells him to use the bike he got at Christmas. He then asks his father what he's shopping for, but his father leaves without answering. Toby is sitting on the couch reading his tablet when Anita introduces herself to him, and his clearly attracted to Anita's beauty. He then becomes a secondary user as his father and sisters watch.
